Meet the Editorial Team

Clear comparisons begin with clear responsibilities. Meet the people who organise our platform research, make the guide easier to use and keep its explanations useful for Australian readers.

Our shared aim is to help you understand what a gaming platform offers before you decide where to explore. We focus on practical differences, readable descriptions and straightforward navigation. Each editor brings a different perspective to that work, while following the same approach to sources, corrections and publication.

The people behind the guide

Editorial lead

Maya Bennett

Maya shapes the comparison criteria and turns research notes into accessible explanations. She asks whether a description answers a reader’s practical questions: what can I find here, how do I discover it, and what should I check before continuing?

Her interest in strategy and city-building games makes her attentive to how small choices affect the bigger picture. At the editorial desk, she uses that perspective to keep individual platform descriptions consistent with the guide as a whole. Maya coordinates corrections and reviews substantive changes before publication.

Platform researcher

Liam Fraser

Liam organises provider information, checks content categories and records how platforms present their discovery tools. His research notes distinguish information published by a provider from observations about the way a page is organised, so the next editor can follow the reasoning.

Simulation and cooperative games are his particular interests. He enjoys comparing how a catalogue helps different players find something suitable, whether they arrive with a title in mind or want to browse. Liam flags changing details for follow-up rather than treating a single visit as a permanent description.

Usability editor

Chloe Nguyen

Chloe reviews navigation clarity, mobile readability and the consistency of platform descriptions. She looks for language that assumes too much, links whose purpose is unclear and sections that make a simple comparison harder than it needs to be.

Her interest is in approachable interfaces and the small improvements suggested by reader feedback. Chloe checks that the same concept is described consistently across the guide and that important qualifications remain easy to find. She passes factual questions back to Liam and discusses larger wording changes with Maya.

How we work together

Research, clarity and editorial review are separate steps in our workflow. A useful description needs a traceable basis as well as language that a reader can understand. These handoffs help us catch both factual gaps and confusing explanations.

  1. Record the basis

Liam records the relevant source, the detail being described and the date it was checked. Provider statements stay attributed to their source. We do not turn marketing language into an independent finding or claim hands-on testing without evidence of that work.

  2. Read from the visitor’s perspective

Chloe reviews the draft for plain language, useful labels and mobile readability. She checks whether comparisons use equivalent terms and whether a qualification belongs beside the claim it explains. Questions about the underlying information return to research before the draft moves on.

  3. Review and maintain

Maya reviews substantive publication changes against the comparison criteria. Our monthly review queue prioritises broken information and reader corrections, followed by descriptions that may have become dated. A material correction can move ahead of the routine queue when it affects a reader’s understanding.

Commercial link context remains separate from editorial judgement. A commercial relationship does not establish a platform’s quality or replace the need for a clear explanation. We keep recommendations tied to the criteria discussed in the guide and avoid promises about another provider’s future availability, service or performance.

We review enquiries Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00 Sydney time, and aim to acknowledge messages within five business days. Please include the page URL, the wording you are asking about and a factual explanation or source that helps us investigate. For a display problem, your device type and browser are useful.

Please leave out passwords, payment details and personal game account information. Questions about an account or transaction with a gaming provider should go to that provider’s support team. Our editors can review information in this guide; they cannot access or manage a provider’s accounts.
