Effective 19 October 2026
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Aussie Playcrest handles personal information when you read our independent gaming guide, choose browser preferences or contact our editors. It sets out the information involved, the reasons for using it and the steps you can take to ask a question or exercise a privacy right.
1. Who we are
Aussie Playcrest operates aussieplaycrest.com as an independent editorial guide to digital games and gaming platforms for Australian readers. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean the Aussie Playcrest editorial operation. This policy covers our website and correspondence with our team; it does not govern the separate services of a game publisher.
For privacy questions, email [email protected], call +61 2 8015 4826, or write to Aussie Playcrest, Level 5, 66 King Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia. Mark correspondence “Privacy request” so it can reach the appropriate editor. You can raise a concern without joining a mailing list.
2. Information involved
Our contact form asks for your name, email address and message. Information you type remains subject to your browser’s normal handling until you submit it. A submission or confirmation screen should not be treated as proof that a message has been delivered to an editor or retained in a correspondence system. For a privacy request requiring a reply, use our published email address.
When you email us directly, the correspondence includes your email address, the message and any attachments you choose to send. Please provide only what is relevant. Avoid sensitive personal information, account passwords, payment details and identity documents. If your concern involves another person, remove their identifying details wherever possible.
Loading a page requires technical request information, including the requested address, network address and browser request headers, to pass between your browser and the website service. This is needed to return the page. We do not describe that exchange as a separate stored visitor profile or promise that a permanent server log exists. Search terms are used for the on-page search interaction; this policy does not claim a retained search history.
| Category | Examples | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enquiries | Name, email and message supplied by you | You and Aussie Playcrest | Understand and answer direct correspondence |
| Requests | Page address and browser request information | Your browser and the website service | Return the requested website content |
| Local storage | aussieplaycrest_ | Aussie Playcrest | Remember an accepted or rejected consent choice in this browser until changed or cleared |
| Cookie | site_ | Aussie Playcrest | Remember the consent choice for up to 365 days |
3. Why information is used
We use direct correspondence to answer questions, investigate reported errors and follow up on editorial corrections. For example, a link and a short description of an inaccurate game listing help an editor identify the relevant passage. Your email address allows us to ask for clarification and explain the outcome.
Preference storage remembers your consent selection so the same question does not need to interrupt every visit. Website controls use the information necessary for the interaction you request, such as displaying search results. We do not sell enquiry details, and contacting the editors does not authorise unrelated marketing. We seek to remove unnecessary personal details from editorial working records.
4. Choice and consent
You choose whether to provide information when contacting us. We use it for the purpose reasonably apparent from your enquiry, with your consent where required, and to meet applicable legal obligations. We respect Australian privacy requirements that apply to our activities, including relevant obligations under the Privacy Act 1988. This statement does not assume that every overseas privacy regime automatically applies to every visit.
The consent panel offers acceptance and rejection of optional storage. No optional trackers are currently planned. The necessary preference entries record either choice, including rejection; accepting does not itself create an advertising profile. Use Cookie settings in the footer to reopen the panel and change your choice. You can also clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Clearing only one mechanism may leave the other preference entry in place.
6. Retention and deletion
Our editorial policy is to delete direct email correspondence normally within 12 months after the enquiry is resolved. Correction records may be kept for up to 24 months to explain an editorial decision, with unnecessary identifiers removed. These periods concern correspondence we actually receive; they do not imply that website form entries are saved in a database.
The local storage consent preference remains until you change it, clear it or site code removes it. The consent cookie is set for 31,536,000 seconds, equivalent to 365 days, unless removed earlier. Browser settings can shorten those periods. A further choice can replace an earlier preference.
We review deletion requests against the purpose for keeping the record. A genuine legal obligation, unresolved dispute or security investigation may justify keeping relevant information longer. If that affects your request, we explain the reason and limit retention to what remains necessary.
7. Protecting information
We use proportionate safeguards, including limiting editorial access, checking who needs correspondence and minimising identifying information in correction records. We review handling practices when changing services or responding to a reported concern. These measures reduce risk, but no website, email channel or storage system can provide an absolute security guarantee.
You can help by sending a concise description instead of an entire account history. Never send passwords, card numbers or copies of identity documents. If information has been included accidentally, contact us promptly, identify the message and ask for removal. We will consider appropriate containment and notification steps where an incident requires them.
8. Your privacy requests
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, seek deletion, or complain about our handling. Email [email protected] with the relevant correspondence date and a clear explanation of the outcome you want. You do not need to send identification with your first request.
We aim to acknowledge requests within five business days and resolve them within 30 days. Where a matter is complex, we explain the delay and provide an updated timeframe. We may use proportionate identity checks, such as confirming control of the email address used in the original exchange, before releasing information.
Some requests may be limited by applicable law or another person’s privacy. We explain any refusal and available review options. If our response does not resolve your concern, you may approach the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where its jurisdiction applies. Nothing in this policy removes a right or remedy available under Australian law.
9. Younger readers
Our guide covers general digital entertainment, not gambling. Games and external platforms have their own age ratings, communication features and account requirements. Parents and carers should check those details and guide younger readers before they follow links or share information.
We do not ask children to provide sensitive details. A parent or carer who believes a child has sent personal information can contact our privacy email with enough context to locate the exchange. We will review the concern and take appropriate steps to remove unnecessary information while protecting the child’s privacy.
10. Policy updates
This policy takes effect on 19 October 2026. We review it when our website interactions or editorial handling practices change. A revised policy will display its effective date here. We will explain material changes to processing before introducing them and seek a fresh choice where consent is required. Contact our editors if you need help understanding how a revision affects an earlier enquiry.
